Darren Aronofsky wanted to make this movie: A repressed ballerina pushes herself beyond her limits to fulfill the role of a lifetime, possibly losing her mind in the process. The part requires about a year of grueling dance training, total transformation and plumbing some ugly emotional depths. So how did the recruiting process go? Well, Natalie Portman says it took almost a decade, but she finally got him to direct "Black Swan."
